Please take Notice…COURTESY EA Degree

Brethren,
Tomorrow night (dinner at 6, degree at 7) Mokanna will be doing EA Courtesy work for one of our EA’s.  They also have the Traveling Gavel and this may be our best chance to grab it this year.

Please join us tomorrow night!  We need as many Master Masons from our lodge as we can get.

44th Annual TENNESSEE Cave Degree

Brothers, we have received an urgent call for assistance from our Brethren in Tennessee as communicated by R.’.W.’. Goolsby to the Past Master’s unit.  If you can be of service in this worthwhile endeavor, by all means, contact R.’.W.’. Goolsby, W.’. Walker, Or R.’.H.’. Van Pelt.  The infomation went as follows:

I have received a call from M:. W:. Tom Boduch, PGM of Tennessee requesting our assistance with conferring the Master Mason Degree in the cave at THIS years annual cave degree. The scheduled team had to back out at the last minute.

The 44th annual cave degree is August 14-15, 2015 in Kingston, TN

Can the PM unit assist in making this happen?  We (the Proud 17th District) will still be conferring the MM in 2016 as well.

Regards,

R/W DDGM  Donald R. Goolsby

This is a very short time to get a team together but I think it can be done.  Some of you may have planned on going to the cave Degree this year anyway and have accommodations reserved.  If any of you think you would like to be a part of this team and can make arrangements, I urge you to call immediately to either R/W DDGM Donald Goolsby or R/H George Van Pelt with the position you can fill for both the 1st and 2nd Sections of The Master Mason Degree.  (If you need their phone numbers, call me.)  NOTE: If you know of someone with knowledge of the Degree parts but is not a Past Master, have them contact the above named persons.

 Wor. Frank Walker,

Director of Work for Bahia Past Masters Unit.

Call for DONATIONS and HELP – It’s Back to School Time!!

Worshipful Jim Fisher reminds us that, once again, our adopted School is is need of our help and donations of school supplies. As part of our community support in our Masonic endeavor, the Lodge has, for several years, provided supplies and monetary donations to help the teachers at Central Avenue Elementary!  What better time to get with the Back-to-School program than during the TAX-FREE back-to-school WHOLE shopping week coming up!  He asked that you bring your donations ASAP to the Lodge, or contact him directly. Theback-to-school-shopping-daysis only but for a limited time, and can save you big bucks on your cost of donating to the school!

Mark your calendars and make your list of back-to-school shopping you need to do. Our Governor Rick Scott has extended the back-to-school tax holiday this year, so it will be easier on our pocketbooks. On these days you can shop for various back-to-school items and you won’t pay sales tax on those items. Many stores around the Orlando/Kissimmee area will also be offering some great sales at that time to entice buyers even more.

The back-to-school tax holiday takes place from August 7-16, 2015.

Items that are included in this include:

Clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $100 or less per item, certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item, and Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories on the first $750 of the sales price, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.

This holiday does not apply to:

• Any item of clothing selling for more than $100;
• Any school supply item selling for more than $15;
• Books that are not otherwise exempt;
• Rentals or leases of any of these items;
• Repairs or alterations of any of these items; or
• Sales of clothing, school supplies, or computers and computer-related accessories in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment, or airport.
